Gut Oggau Puts Their Best Face Forward. On Their Wines.

These wine labels caught my eye over on Notcot about a month ago, so I looked into it a little more and wanted to share this unique family winery and their fun branding by Jung Von Matt with you.

Gut Oggau

The market town Oggau, located at Lake Neusiedl in the Austrian province Burgenland, is a wine growing village famous for its quality. Its tradition dates back to the early Romans, who first produced red wine in Austria.

The vineyard Oggau also looks back on a long history and its now operated by Eduard Tscheppe and Stephanie Tscheppe-Eselböck (shown below), who have added a modern touch to the vineyard.

Thanks to the biodynamic winemaking process and the focus on the essential, the Gut Oggau features a tight selection of authentic, typical regional wines. Each of these wines has its own personality and is closely related to the other wine characters. They regard their wines as being distinctive personalities who form a unique wine family.

Which brings me to their wonderful labels, packaging and more created by illustrator Jung Von Matt. Each vintage is attributed to one of the members of the three generation family. Their drawn image, as well as their name, appears on the bottle's label.

The descriptions are personifications of the family members as well:

Meet the family and the family of wines:

It is a fascinating wine dynasty, which is always worth taking a close look at.

About the brand:

Temple was adopted into the artist collective of McManus Studios. A design cooperative built on three simple words: dream, risk, create. An American-made bag company that is sourced and produced locally in Los Angeles, California.

Every bag in their Heritage Collection is handcrafted from materials formerly used in WWII. The fabric is found after hours of searching through dusty warehouses; it is then washed, cut and re-purposed into our contemporary designs.

Due to the unique process of salvaging these vintage military goods, each bag is guaranteed to be one-of-a-kind. Ironically enough these fabrics that were once used for defending our freedom now serve to protect what they value most.

Sold online at www.templebags.com
As well as a few select boutiques in LA (more distribution is on it’s way).

Fishes Eddy Serves Up Pills, Intervention & Urban Tableware

Fishs Eddy, the tableware and restaurant supply store in New York is always a blast to browse and three of their newest collections do not disappoint.

Pills, Intervention-ware and Urban Palette all capitalize on today's society of over-medicated, over-eating urbanites with hilarious dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe tableware.

Pills is a fun new collection consisting of a small oval tray, a mug and coasters that feature photographic images of capsules, pills and other meds.

Small oval Pills tray. The Pills mug features a light blue interior:

Intervention-ware features a dinner plate and a salad plate designed to make you think twice about whether or not you truly need to indulge.

Dinnerplate, 10 1/4" diameter:

The text on the border reads:
Do you really need that second helping? It's hard to be around you when you eat like this. Please stop eating. We're worried about you. For the love of god stop eating.

The Urban Palette Dinnerware was clearly inspired by the Pantone Collection of dinnerware (which they used to carry), but this is different -and exclusive to Fishs Eddy.

In lieu of the color blocks being labeled with PMS colors and numbers, they have handwritten words that describe the colors of the city, such as East River, Pigeon, Great Lawn, Knish, Postal Blue, Chrysler, etc.
